A CHIC AND ELEGANT HOME
A design hotel in Marseille near the Vieux Port
The Saint-Louis was one of the oldest hotels in Marseille, located just steps from the Vieux Port. Today, Amista is a large family home, sunny and welcoming, where every guest is invited to enjoy an authentic 3-star stay.
Completely and perfectly restored, this historic building has been renovated with care to preserve its original charm while enhancing its unique architectural style. A house run by history enthusiasts, as we are, Amista combines design, and heritage for travelers seeking both tradition and modernity.
A home where the sun is king
AT GINTO'S
THE SUN SHINES
FROM WITHIN
We are very proud to count on the talent of Dorothée Delaye, our interior designer for the Amista hotel, the true architect of our Provençal emotions.
“With Amista, I wanted to restore this place to its former glory by celebrating Marseille, its vibrant lifestyle and its rich port history. Here, generosity and conviviality prevail, in a house inhabited by enthusiasts and filled with objects from multiple influences. Every detail pays tribute to local artisans, authentic materials, and the essence of architecture, creating a sincere and timeless atmosphere. We share, we laugh, we dream... and we live Marseille to the full. Welcome to Amista!” — Dorothée Delaye
This unique set combines lifestyle, design, and art, blending style with history to create a popular yet refined address in the heart of the city. She has brought light to the decor of Gabrielle Chanel's private apartment, to Jean-François Piège's new restaurant, to a collector's house in Hossegor, and to luxury hotels in Paris.
Dorothée draws inspiration from the history of the place, from our Ginto DNA, and from the spirit that makes Marseille and Provence so vibrant, to give our hotel a beautiful elegance. It has awakened the sleeping beauty that was our Amista, daring to offer it the chance to open a new and totally unprecedented chapter.
At the Hotel Amista you are far from stereotypes. In a place decorated with objects found during our travels. Lively with colors, patterns, materials and that omnipresent sun, in an intimate and warm house. At Ginto and here in particular, we love the splendor of materials, of chic and casual, as much as the welcoming softness of a sofa.
Because here you don't come to be seen, but to feel at home. At Ginto, luxury is the attention to detail, the elegance of discretion, the perfection of a decoration that has a soul and, above all, the charm of exclusivity.
Welcome to a world beyond time
HARMONY
A TOUCH OF SINCERITY
“You don't recreate the old, you hunt it down, you repair it, you bring it up to date.” . An old piece of furniture awaits you at the reception desk. Travel souvenirs, local handicrafts, or finds from here and there, near and far, come together to shape a living art collection within our walls. A second-hand desk, a lamp from a century past, a Gien service that has so many stories to tell.
You won’t find anything predictable or ordinary in our trendy hotel. Instead, you’ll discover happy accumulations, colors, and materials that energize every corner of the house.
The result? From the lobby to each of our 24 rooms, whether you enjoy a city view or the intimacy of a quiet suite, you feel like you’ve returned from a journey; your heart still light, with that indescribable feeling of being at home, your mind free.
Each room is a painting
A painting by Dorothée Delaye. Orangey yellow, blue green or pink. Each has a strong identity, a unique atmosphere and furnishings.
Provençal fabrics curl around the headboards and adorn the curtains. Materials meet colors, creating a family home atmosphere to make you feel right at home. In our bathrooms, colorful floor tiles, earthenware and custom-made wallpaper. Antique objects and a touch of retro.
Rattan meets antiques, iconic Murano glass dialogues with wrought iron... Styles and eras tell the story of time passing in a form of eclectic harmony. This inspiring singularity is the mark of our property, imagined by a talented designer where every object, every table, and every detail celebrates art, comfort, and timeless elegance.
